The Making of: Dark/Out Of Phase album
The Music for this Album was all written while living in B.C. (pre Covid). While there, in the last few months of 2019, and realizing nothing would last – or me there and having to let go of what I thought was my dream and forever life, dealing with the loss of life and love around me was causing much grief and writing this music was therapy.
Upon moving back to Calgary 3 years ago I immersed myself into music and the songs, that are to be what is today this new album (Dark/Out of Phase).
Recruiting my long-time friend and collaborator, Bob Richardson, at Slaughter House Studios we quickly began rehearsing to get the music from my head to his ears. We were quickly joined by Howard Schmenge Chapman and soon after Tim Williams.
After just a few rehearsals I quickly realized we were playing what I had in my head.
Playing the whole album as they did way back in history, where four guys set up in a circle, put up a few mics and just let the songs tell their story. Up close and personal Dark/Out of Phase is a work of the heart about love and life lost and starting over.
Cerebral palsy curbed his ability to play guitar the conventional way, so Nagoda learned double slide, this is his debut LP.
